A Student’s Question:

One time, I asked a Catholic Priest, why he thought I should give homeless people my money when I know they are just going to spend it on drugs and alcohol. His response has remained with me: “Well you just never know when someone might be at the end of their rope and ready to give up on life and end it all.  If that little bit of money gets them through one more day on God’s earth, then it was worth it. Nothing is more valuable than a human life.” Rev. Dan Whalen

 

About Us

A group of students in Maggie Patterson’s Investigative Journalism course at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA decided to look into homelessness in the city of Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas.
